Genius Loci: Observational Findings

The Samuel L. Parrish curio cabinet includes a memorial to artist Roy Lichtenstein, whose work had a profound influence on Sandrow’s development as an artist. On display is a “leathermen” that was a gift from Dorothy to her husband Roy alongside his hand-written sign that was often posted on the door to his Southampton studio. Courtesy of Dorothy Lichtenstein.

Also shown is a corner of a Lichtenstein printed card;  Frederic Tuten’s The Adventures of Mao on the Long March (Roy’s portrait of Mao on the cover); a card to Hope Sandrow from Agnes Gund.
